Where can I get genetic testing?

A number of international genetic diagnostic centers offer a wide range of genetic testing services; increasingly, many of these centers are developing genetic tests specifically for autism spectrum disorders (ASDs).

There are online resources available for people interested in finding genetic testing laboratories and clinics.  The National Institute of Health (NIH) offers a medical genetics information resource called GeneTests (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/GeneTests/) that provides international directories for genetic testing laboratories and clinics.  The American College of Medical Genetics (http://www.acmg.net/) offers a “Find Genetic Services” search engine that allows visitors to find genetics clinics and centers in the United States that provide specific clinical services, such as genetic testing for ASD.
