About Us

Autism Reading Room is the first social project of MindSpec, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit scientific organization performing bioinformatics research on neurodevelopmental disorders. The main goal of Autism Reading Room is to explain cutting-edge research on autism to a broad audience.

Our writing/editorial staff consists of an interdisciplinary team of scientific experts who are supported by an experienced IT staff. In the future, we hope to invite commentaries from guest scientists actively involved in specialized areas of autism research.

MindSpec developed the first genetic database for autism, AutDB, which is licensed to the Simons Foundation as SFARI Gene. MindSpec also conducts original research, analyzing the data content of AutDB to identify molecular pathways underlying the pathogenesis of Autism Spectrum Disorders.
