Several conditions are more commonly associated with ASD, including epilepsy, head anomalies, bowel disorders, and schizophrenia. This study is one of the first to include a large number of individuals, 35 years of age and younger. The therapy room provides additional information about pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical ways to treat the conditions associated with ASD.
No standardized treatments exist for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Instead, treatment strategies vary based on the type and severity of symptom presentation.
It’s important to consider that not all therapies are equal. While some treatment options have been tested in well-designed studies (evidence-based), others are only now emerging. Some of these are well established (evidence-based) while others maybe promising or emerging therapeutics requiring further assessment of its clinical utility.
